About Stijn

My name is Stijn Vermeeren. (How to pronounce my name.) I'm a 22-year-old Mathematics student from Aarschot, Belgium. My native language is Dutch.

I'm currently a first year Ph.D student in Mathematical Logic at the University of Leeds, where I am supervised by S. Barry Cooper and Andy Lewis. Earlier, I studied at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Bachelor in Mathematics) and at the University of Cambridge (Certificate of Advanced Study in Mathematics, or Part III).

On the mathematics page you can find more information on my research.

I'm also interested in problem solving and mathematical olympiads. I was a contestant for the Belgian team at the International Mathematical Olympiad 2005 in Mérida, Mexico, where I received a Honorable Mention. I also participated to the International Mathematical Competition for University Students 2008 in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.

I hope to expand the English section of this website in the near future.

In the meantime, feel free to contact me.

If you're not scared by some Dutch, you can have a look at my blog, my photo album, my (not so serious) biography or my collection of music albums.
